MBA Trends in India

MBA - Masters in Business Administration...Thats what we call..But fact of matter is that we dont have quality MBA's but just quantity..Every day a college comes in some part of corner of the country. For e.g in Pune itself there are more than 150 colleges offering MBA in different terminologies - MBA / PGDM / PGM and the list goes on & on..

Students are joining MBA's thinking that they would salary of 25K per month.Fact of matter is industry does not pay much..Magazines , News channels , institutions all have hyped up..Industry needs quality professionals but what college offers is worser than expected..When there are more than 10,000 students passing out in Pune itself, how do we expect them to get recruited. Above all when we are sector specific, we are not aware of it.

People who are doing finance don't know what finance is all about it. HR People are people who have not dealt with people. They are taught laws , motivation , conflict management but can they manage it practically..Marketing people are afraid to get into sales..They want to do branding without even knowing its basics.

Theory still is given prime importance. Are you good student if your scoring more than 60%. Does being a university topper add value in terms of practical exposure.. Today demand of students are more as compared to supply of colleges. Hence people are taking advantage of this situation but students wont understand. Parents are ready to pay donation in lacs even without knowing whether its worth paying.

Magazines give ranking of colleges which is never true on earth. Most of the Colleges show 100% placement , Higest salary package in more than 5 lacs. What a shame the education system has become..

Our syllabus is still of the age of 1990's.Still we keep the same sylabbus..Even questions papers have the same question most of the times..Its a fact that we dont develop interest in the minds of students..Its more of a push factor..Brains are not used creatively but in a mechanical manner..thinking cant be developed in a day but an effort needs to be made by the student , college & the people who are in charge of the Industry..

Today if we need to have quality of students then there should be a focussed approach rather than a money earning machine..
